Elephant in the Room
Elephant in the Room is a short fiction-documentary hybrid on the important role elephants play within their ecosystem, told through the eyes of a 7-year-old girl (Dana). Dana transforms her bedroom into an African savanna with her favorite stuffed elephant, Ellie. As an essential species within this ecosystem, Ellie takes care of all the other animals.
When Dana suddenly loses Ellie, both the real and the fictional ecosystems have to deal with the consequences. An impala has more trouble finding food, a business of dwarf mongoose cannot find a place for their home, and a warthog is too warm to play because of a lack of deep puddles of water.
